When I first published My Tandem Nursing Journey: Breastfeeding through Pregnancy, Nursing Aversion, Labor and Beyond there were limited licensed images available to portray tandem breastfeeding.

So, I settled on what our designer had with the plan to one day put my own image on when we could afford to pay someone to take photos of me nursing the girls.

This year I found a brilliant artist on Instagram and fell in love with her work.

I asked her to do a portrait for the purpose of this book and the hard copy to hang in my living room.

The artist is Charlotte Lyng.

Charlotte does such fantastic work. I sent her some pictures for reference, but I couldn’t get both of my girls to sit still and nurse to pose in the exact one we wanted.

She took what I could get and created something I will cherish for the rest of my life!

We emailed back and forth and Charlotte sent me her ideas and updates every step to make sure this was what I wanted.

Charlotte was great to work with, very patient with my questions and need for specific sizes and digital copies. After she mailed the hard copy to me, Charlotte sent me an email asking me to message her once I had received it.

When I got the envelope in the mail it was carefully decorated with mushroom art and inside the painting had made the journey across the ocean without any damage at all because of how carefully she wrapped it.

One of my favorite things about this portrait is how natural it looks.

It shows me as I am and not a retouched thinner version, which I couldn’t believe how happy that made me. I just seriously love everything about this piece and honestly all of Charlotte’s work. This picture is now the centerpiece of my living room!

The second edition is now available on Amazon with this beautiful image she created for my family.

Check out Charlotte’s website, Etsy shop or her Instagram to see some of her artwork or contact her.

I look forward to working with her again in the future!
